Facilities Assessment and District Master Facilities Plan
San Rafael City Schools
-
The San Rafael City Schools had completed a series of bond projects and was looking to develop a comprehensive Facilities Master Plan to reflect anticipated growth and unfinished projects. Our team walked every campus, reviewed past work and interviewed M&O staff to identify facilities conditions, utilization, educational capacity and enrollment.
Interviews at every campus were conducted with site committees to identify priorities and then to review potential master plan improvements. Once funding was established and paired with the needs of the District, a prioritization process was developed that included robust community input. The final result was an actionable Facilities Master Plan that was implemented with a successful bond.
Following the success of the program, the District hired us to update this plan for a follow-up bond taking into account incomplete projects and remaining campus deficiencies. The result was another successful bond and a continuation of the program that touched every student in the District.
