Marcus Hibser
Marcus Hibser brings more than 30 years of experience planning, designing, and implementing educational facilities throughout California, with a particular focus on serving public K–12 school districts. His unique background combines executive leadership of a successful architectural practice with hands-on experience in facilities planning, capital program development, and stakeholder engagement. This combination allows Marcus to bridge the gap between long-range visioning and practical implementation, helping districts align educational goals, facility needs, and available resources.
While a Principal at HY Architects, Marcus led multidisciplinary teams responsible for the successful delivery of complex educational projects ranging from new campuses and modernizations to major additions and infrastructure improvements. In addition to managing large project teams, he has worked directly with district leadership, facilities departments, governing boards, and community stakeholders to develop district-wide design standards, conduct comprehensive facility assessments, and prepare facilities master plans for dozens of campuses throughout California.
His experience provides a deep understanding of how facility condition, educational adequacy, operational efficiency, deferred maintenance, enrollment trends, and capital funding must be evaluated together to support informed decision-making.
